TG4 sends best wishes to Cartoon Saloon as the talented animation team head for another west coast to attend next week’s Oscar ceremonies in California. Their magical Song of the Sea is in the running for an Oscar for the best Animation Film and carries all our hopes with it.

We are pleased to have been an early supporter of this venture, along with the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and the Irish Film Board. Amhrán na Mara, the Irish language version of the film, will screen in selected cinemas throughout Ireland this coming Summer, from 10th of July onwards.
We send a “beannacht” (‘blessing’) to all involved, particularly actors Brendan Gleeson and Fionnuala Flanagan, long-time and valued supporters of this and other TG4 projects in Irish and also to musicians Colm Ó Snodaigh and Lisa Hannigan who contributed to the music track.
